Savasana or "Corpse Pose"
The goal of this first pose is to completly relax. Though this may seem easy and simple it is actually very challenging to a beginner of Yoga. Why? Because you have to relax every muscle completely as if you are a corpse. Hence the name.
Tip: To get to a deeper state of relaxation tense each muscle of your body and relax it. Begin with your hands by tensing and relaxing them, then continue to cover every muscle group from your head to your toes. This will help release tension.

To do this pose all you have to do is lay down flat.
Make sure your body is balanced i.e. not leaning more on one side or another. Your whole upper back should be touching the groud and your feet should be relaxed and loose.
Practice deep and slow breathing as you lay there. Tense and relax all your muscles. Then just relax imagining yourself as if you were made of stone or lead i.e. very heavy.
Do this for 10-15 minutes.
